Provincetown is where the Pilgrims first landed in 1620 and wrote America's first constitution, the "Mayflower Compact". After they left Provincetown they traveled on and ended up in Plymouth. Today Provincetown is a place for artists and alternative culture. It has many motels and inns. In the summer the population is over 30,000.

Parking Information
Stickers : Daily fees to park are $10, $3 to bike or walk into Herring Cove and Race Point Beaches, both in the Cape Cod National Seashore. A seasonal pass is $30.
A National Park pass is $50; Golden Age card - good for life - $10 for 62 years or older; Golden Access Card is free for thos with disabilities.

Places of Interest
- Race Point: No matter the direction you face at the point, the sky, water and sandy beaches are always beautiful and scenic. Take Route 6 to Race Point Road.
- Pilgrim Monument: On a clear day, visitors can see a glimpse of the Boston skyline from the top of this 252-foot memorial. The Monument is the tallest all-granite structure in the nation. Located on High Pole Hill.
- Provincetown Museum: Stepping into this museum brings people back to the 17th century. The museum offers a large replica of the Mayflower. Diaries and the signing of the Mayflower Compact are also displayed. Located on High Pole Hill.
- Beech Forest Trail: A mile-long trail that makes its way through some scenic sand dunes on the Cape. The trail starts by twisting through cool beech forests and freshwater ponds. When you reach the end you come to an opening to the desert-like dunes.
