Brewster was founded in 1659 and named for the "pious Elder of Plymouth" William Brewster. In 1803 the citizens of Brewster decided to split from Harwich and incorporate as their own town. Many sea captains built their homes in Brewster.

Parking Information
Stickers : Residents stickers are $10. Non-resident stickers are $10 a day, $30 for one week, $25 for each additional week, $45 for two weeks, $100 for the season. Stickers on sale. daily at rear of town offices, Route 6A.
Parking : Free, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the three freshwater ponds in Nickerson State Park. Boat rentals are available at Cliff and Flax Ponds.
